RATINGS & REVIEWS
Rated 3 out of 5 by from It is decent faucet and happy BUT... I purchased this faucet for my customer. Installation was fairly easy and no issues. However: 1. The cold and hot hoses were missing. Called Ove folks and they sent me hoses. 2. The way the facet assembled is it does not allow maximum hot water temperature. It needs to be disassembled and move the limiter to maximum to get hot water out of it. >The is no instruction on how to adjust temperature in package. Come on people!!! WHEN YOU SELL SOMETHING, SELL WITH ALL RELATED INFORMATION! I WAS WAITING 25 MINUTES ON PHONE TO GET THIS INFO FROM YOUR SUPPORT GUYS. I AM CONTRACTOR AND TIME IS MONEY! Except above issues, overall happy with product and OVE support folks were friendly and approachable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Difficult to install & anti-scald is very low The faucet looks nice but is difficult to install, and doesn’t work well. The faucet self-empties the stainless steel lines after it's shut off. The hand-held shower leaks a considerable amount of water after it’s shut off. The anti-scale valve is set so low from the factory that a bath is not possible without adjustment. It’s around 85 degrees, that’s lower than body temperature. It’s not easy to adjust the anti-scale valve so most non-DIY people would need to hire a plumber. Looks pretty/not functional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid beautiful faucet We had a contractor install this faucet so I cannot attest to the difficulty in its installation but I will say that it is a very beautiful looking, solid faucet. It compliments the Ove Charlotte free-standing tub we bought from Costco. As with other reviewers, it has an anti-scold device that you will want to remove or it will not get hot enough. This is super easy to take off and it only took me (not the contractor) about 5 minutes to remove and have it back running. My wife and I love the faucet and highly recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Athena faucet wouldn’t allow hot water to flow I purchased the Athena Fossett with a beautiful bathtub from Costco. It came as a set. My plumber had difficulty trying to get the hot water to flow through the faucet. I called OVE, explain the situation and they sent me a part. My plumber came back in, installed the part and it still had the same issue. I looked online through Google and found that there is a piece in the Fossett that stops the water from getting too hot. I removed the part and now the Fossett works fine. I would’ve thought that the employee of OVE would have known about this problem and could’ve helped me easily solve it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking faucet Purchase this faucet for our master bathroom free standing tub - looks great. Just make sure your plumber adjusts the cartridge for your preferred water temperature, if you're a DIYer contact OVE and they will e-mail you the instructions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall nice fixture The faucet has a great appearance. A couple of downfalls is when the wand empties it does tend to leave a mess on the floor. Also need help getting cartridge adjusted so that the temp is warmer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good looking faucet When I turn the faucet on water comes from both the filler and the handheld and I cannot stop this.

Does the Athena freestanding bathtub faucet have issues restricting hot water where only warm water is released? We are interested in purchasing the Natalie free standing tub that has the Athena faucet included. The purchase would be from Costco. Thanks!

Asked by: EricSS
Thank you for reaching out. There is a regulator that will restrict the amount of hot water can flow through the faucet. However this regulator is adjustable to allow more or less hot water to flow. We'd be happy to share the how to with you. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer service team at 1-866-839-2888 or by email at [email protected]

Does this faucet meet the standards in California, because from what I understand the GPM is 2.25 for this faucet and the standards in California are 1.8 or less. So this faucet does not meet the standards in California if I am understanding correctly.

Asked by: Mary Y
Dear customer, Thank you for reaching out, and rest assured that OVE Compliance team is always working to ensure all our products comply with the most stringent regulations & standards. You are correct that the CEC requires a max flowrate of 1.8gpm for Showerhead & Handheld Showers, as of 2018-07-01. Nevertheless, this standard only applies to Showerhead & Handheld Shower, such as the one present on the OVE Athena Freestanding Faucet. We confirm that the Athena does comply with the CEC regulations, and that its handheld shower handle max flowrate is below 1.8gpm. However, the spout flowrate is not covered in the regulations, other than in the UPC and CSA certifications, which requires bathtub faucet SPOUT has a MINIMUM flowrate of 2.4gpm. This is indeed a smart regulation, as limiting the flowrate of a bathtub faucet would only increase the time it takes to fill the tub, and would not prevent any water waste, which is the spirit of the regulation.
